The 5th graders are full of curiosity, vigor, and enthusiasm. They are given lots of homework, tests, and projects. Martin Luther King, Jr., Black History Month, and Women’s Month are just some of the topics that are researched and discussed.

As an extra reading activity, once a month, the 5th graders write and illustrate reading booklets for the 1st grade. This has proved to be a very rewarding experience for both grades.

The interaction is awesome. Often, 5th graders are invited and look forward to joining the Middle School for guest presentations, school dances, and field trips. Most importantly, 5th graders are maturing and preparing to meet the Middle School expectations.
