How to Set Up a Livestream Countdown Timer on Dacast

In response to the requests of our valued customers, Dacast is happy to release a new feature: a live stream countdown timer. You can now display the time remaining before the beginning of a live event on your website.

What is the Benefit of a Livestream Countdown?

The live countdown gives your viewers a countdown until your live event starts allowing them to make sure not to miss the beginning of your live stream event.

Using a livestream countdown will likely get your audience excited and it may increase your viewership.

How to Set up a Live Stream Countdown Timer 

STEP 1: Go to the live channel of your choice.

STEP 2: Click the pencil icon to edit.

STEP 3: Scroll down to the “Settings” section and toggle on the “Live Stream Start Countdown”:

STEP 4: Select the date and time you want your live stream to start. Make sure to select the timezone of your streaming from, as well. This step is highlighted in red below.

NOTE: You need to begin to type your timezone, then select the correct time zone that will display on the dropdown menu consequently.

For example, type PACIFIC for pacific time, and select the correct timezone:

STEP 5: Scroll down and click SAVE. 

You’re all set. Your countdown is now displaying on your live event to come.
