One of the most appealing aspects of using a professional video hosting solution like Dacast is the ability to embed your video player just about anywhere, including your own app or website.

Today, we are going to explain how to use your Dacast embedded player.

    What are Embedded Players?

Embedded players are media players enclosed in an HTML document or other web space, such as a forum, by using the ActiveX and or Netscape plug-in for that player.

This plug-in often refers to Flash video, the most common format choice for content streamed over the internet, or HTML5.

Dacast supports a dual-embed approach. Whether you are using an iframe or Javascript code, ie: a video.JS enabled HTML5 video player, you can embed a player into the HTML of a website.

This code will then dynamically change based on the device that views it. For example, desktops receive a Flash version, while mobile devices receive an HTML version of the player.

How to Use Your Embedded Player

Embedded players are quite simple to use. With Dacast, you don’t need to create a special embed tailored to individual viewers viewing methods since the embed code provided is dynamic and changes based on the viewers’ needs.

All you have to do to embed your video on your website is to copy the embed code from Dacast and post it in your website’s code.

To access a video’s embed code, click on “Edit” a channel or video’s general tab of the video under the “Sharing” section.

In general, the iframe embed code works UNLESS you use website referral restrictions. In that case, you need to use the JS code instead.
